Private by design.

What we collect

We collect only information needed to provide and protect the service:

• your Fitness with Friends account identifiers and, when Apple supplies one, an Apple relay email;
• your display name and timezone;
• private crew membership, roles, invitations, programme and challenge settings;
• exercise entries, corrections, substitutions, timestamps and reactions;
• notification choices, device notification token and limited notification delivery/open records;
• Next Small Move, private device-local reminder settings and other on-device preferences;
• Training Mate ownership, configuration and activity planning data; and
• for Crew Plus, a random App Store account token and the minimum App Store transaction, subscription, expiry, renewal and revocation information needed to provide and restore access.

We also use allow-listed, privacy-minimised product events to understand activation, feature use and crew completion. We do not accept names, email addresses, location, free text or exact exercise totals in those analytics events.

How we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, operate private crews and programmes, record activity, deliver optional supported notifications, provide Crew Plus, keep the service secure and reliable, and improve the product using privacy-minimised analytics. We do not sell personal information, serve ads or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Fitness and exercise information is used for app functionality and improvement, never for advertising or sharing with data brokers.

Who can see it

Your display name, crew role, challenge participation, exercise contributions and reactions are visible only to members of the same private crew. Other crew members cannot see your email, authentication records, billing details or private account controls.

App-powered Training Mates are disclosed to the crew. They have no authentication account and cannot own or administer a crew. Owner-only Training Mate controls are restricted to the owner and trusted service components.

Apple processes Sign in with Apple, TestFlight/App Store distribution, subscriptions and device notifications. We use Supabase to operate the authenticated account and application data service. Trusted service providers process information only to operate and protect Fitness with Friends, not for advertising.

Notifications and reminders

Notifications are optional. Supported alerts include planned-move reminders, private crew activity and reactions, shared completion, Training Mate activity and Move With Me invitations. You can control notification categories and quiet hours in the app and in iOS Settings.

Move reminder schedules and their materialised occurrences stay on your device. They are prepared only from current remaining work in your selected workspace and are not shared with your crew or uploaded as a social signal.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or infer date of birth or gender identity. We do not use HealthKit, Apple Watch verification, camera or video, contacts, precise or background location, weight, nutrition, calories, a public social graph, direct messages or an advertising identifier. We do not receive or store your card, bank or Apple Account payment details.

Retention

Account, activity and app-side subscription records are retained while your account exists so private crews, access and shared progress can remain accurate. Pending work is kept until resolved. Expired or revoked invitations and terminal Training Mate planning records may be removed after 90 days. Terminal notification-delivery records, App Store notification deduplication records and privacy-minimised product events are retained for up to 13 months before they are aggregated or deleted.

Private on-device data remains until account deletion is confirmed or you remove the app.

Your choices

In Settings, you can manage notification preferences, restore or manage an Apple subscription where applicable, prepare a portable data export and request account deletion. Export combines the information stored on your device with the account data available from the service, while excluding secrets such as raw invite capabilities, backend keys and signed App Store payloads.

When you delete your account, the service first revokes the Sign in with Apple authorisation before confirming server deletion. Local synced identity is removed only after deletion is confirmed. Deleting your Fitness with Friends account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple.

Security

We use authenticated requests, database row-level access controls, encrypted retained Apple authorisation, device-only Keychain storage and token redaction to help protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the information we use limited and protected.

This website

This public website does not set non-essential cookies and does not use its own analytics, tracking pixels, advertising technology or contact forms. If you email support, your email provider and ours will process the message so we can respond.
